This is the second time I have shipped personal effects from the UK to the USA with 1st Move International. In contrast to my previous experiences with larger well-known companies, 1st Move have been reliable with good communication and excellent, careful packaging, resulting in a safe and intact shipment. The company’s 1st Move worked with on the US side were very helpful and responded promptly to my e-mails. It was helpful to be able to track the container ship on a phone app after it left Tilbury Docks and reassuring to see my shipment packed up on pallets prior to loading. Our wall clock had its own specially made wooden box and suffered no damage.

Moving household effects from UK to the USA is, by nature, complicated by paperwork and odd sized items. The move was completed with comprehensive and immediate help from the staff both online or by 'phone. Items were collected from storage unit in the UK and delivered kerbside in the USA with no problems and on schedule. Packing was excellent with extensive padding and protective wrapping. All in all an outstanding service.

I had a very good experience working with First Move to ship furniture from England to USA. Staff are friendly and helpful, offering good advice about filling in quirky customs documentation and other aspects of the procedure. Everything went to plan. Tracked the container ship leaving London and arriving in New York. Furniture arrived very nicely packaged. The only stressful part was trying to contact the local delivery company to see if they needed assistance unloading the pallet from their truck. Their 'phone system was down for several days apparently. However, when the truck showed up they managed to move the pallet into my garage so everything worked out ok. I would definitely recommend 1st move and will probably use them again in future.

We hired 1st Move International to pick up our belongings from a UK warehouse and deliver them to our new address in WA, USA. We packed everything ourselves as far as boxes go, but we had some furniture and bigger items that did not fit any boxes. Some of those had to be repacked and reorganized. 1st Move was very precise in doing that, taking special care of fragile items (e.g. our record collection). Everything arrived in perfect condition. Nothing was damaged in any way. They were also on top of their communication, always letting us know where our items were and when we could expect delivery. Actually, in the end, they were delivered a couple of days before schedule. All in all, it was an impeccable experience and we can only recommend 1st Move International.

I was really nervous in making my selection of which shipping company to use. Reviews for all companies I looked in to seemed to be quite mixed but the customer service from 1st Move International in answering all my initial questions was great. The cost was also really competitive and so I accepted their quote. The booking process was simple, the collection in the UK was well communicated, the tracking of my pallets on the ship from the UK to the USA was fun to follow and then the communication Stateside was also good. I was amazed that the eta given when my pallets left the UK was the exact date my stuff arrived at my house! I was expecting delays with the global shipping issues so that was a bonus. All of my boxes and furniture was well packed and arrived as I left them. All in all I had a great experience and would use them again.

1st Move was great to work with and our relocation from London to the USA went well and was roughly delivered as estimated. The UK side was very smooth and had great service all around. The receiving end in the USA was not at good, with sparse service updates from the end contracted logistics company. The shipment arrived at our residential address with no pallet jack or way to get the actual pallets off of the truck, so definitely a miss for the "logistics experts" doing the delivery. All around, I'd recommend this service above other international shipping options that our friends have used, which have had many more challenges and delays.

I would give more stars if I could! 1st Move shipped 4 large pallets from the UK to the US for me and what seemed like such a daunting task to me, they handled awesomely! After a few weeks of research we chose 1st Move (who were not the cheapest) but appeared to offer everything we required. I read some reviews which were both good and bad. (The bad made me wonder if we’d chose the right company to move our belongings) I can honestly say that whenever I had a query/question Tessa answered immediately. All staff that I had contact with were above and beyond helpful. We couldn’t fault the professionalism of the staff, even those that came to the house under Covid times. We packed the majority of items ourselves and left anything of value that required insuring to 1st move. Upon receiving our freight in Austin TX it was well packed, well sealed. Not a drop of moisture was visible anywhere. No items were damaged. The US delivery company were indeed 1 man, so expect when it states curb side drop off, that’s exactly what you get unless there is an option to get them to unload within your property. The only niggles I have is the small print really requires reading by everyone at the start of the process and familiarise yourself several weeks later, 4-6 week delivery was quoted, but that was a little on the optimistic side. I guess with all the world issues currently, it took 9 weeks door to door (but Covid is the new normal now and so this should always be factored in). Overall very satisfied and would recommend 1st Move to anyone and I’d certainly use them again if required.

Very speedy pick-up from our flat, the team was expert and made quick work of our 1 bedroom to include carefully packaging our exercise bike. About 7 weeks after the household goods were picked up in London they were delivered to the East Coast USA. We have moved with about half a dozen companies over the past decade and this was the first time everything arrived intact. On occasion the company took a day or two to respond to emails but they always answered all questions accurately and fully. We would highly recommend using their service for a UK to US move.

We did have to unpack the pallet ourselves when it arrived so be prepared for that. After reading many review from many different companies I decided to go with first move for my move from Surrey to Miami. Honestly from the first step they were professional and made the move so much easier. All my items arrived undamaged and in great condition. Also they were the only company that told me there were additional port fees in the US and to have an extra $400 a side. This was for USA port taxes and could only be paid on arrival into the country. Every other company keep that quiet!

The shipment arrived on time in the US and my son was amazed at how well everything had been packed and covered in vast quantities of bubble wrap. Very Smooth Moving Experience. I used 1st Move International to transport approximately 1.5 cubic metres of personal household items from Oxfordshire, UK back to my home of Milwaukee, WI. From the very beginning the process was extremely efficient. The quotation provided by this company was the lowest out of all those that I contacted. They called my mobile multiple times to confirm details such as where to park, how to access my house, and what forms I needed to fill out. They were also able to easily accommodate a change of move date without any hassle or extra fees. There was a lot of paperwork to do - this is unavoidable when moving internationally. However they had step-by-step instructions for these forms and there were only a few minor details that were slightly confusing. On the day the truck arrived to pick up my items, the driver was extremely polite and handled my items with care. The pictures posted online reassured me that my items were carefully arranged and packaged. I was warned ahead of time that the quotation only included services in the UK and sea freight shipping from UK to the port of entry, which in my case was Newark, New Jersey. I was then contacted by their US partner company, who charged me $200 for shipment from New Jersey to Milwaukee and a $40 USD "release fee" to come pick my stuff up. Again, I was warned ahead of time about these charges and it was not a problem.

I am so glad I used 1st Move for my recent move from the UK to USA. From the initial phone call for information and a quote, to the 2 witty, funny and mega strong men that turned up fully loaded and armed with masses of bubble wrap and the ever so helpful Mark at the end of a phone line and on email: everyone went above and beyond the call of duty. I paid exactly what they quoted on my initial inquiry which was half the cost of what other companies had suggested. And above all they moved mountains and made miracles happened. So I happily packed up the wedding dress and copious amounts of wedding bits and bobs only to then realise it was all due to arrive AFTER the wedding had taken place. No problem at all. Mark and the team all pulled together, fast tracked my things and from picking up my belongings on a Tuesday morning somehow got them on the boat leaving that Saturday. They then even turned up in Monroe BEFORE Mark thought it would be humanely possible too. I'm one happy girl. Our relationship began almost 2 years ago when we decided to ship our beloved 1986 Porsche 911 to the U.S. To make a long story short, 1st Inter. Movers were there for us every step of the way, patiently holding our hands through the shipping process. The car was newly refurbished and we were concerned that the trip would mar the new paint. We were pleasantly surprised when we picked it up in pristine condition. I found 1st Move International on the internet after being faced with numerous companies. I liked the way the pallets were packed as shown on the video clip, and the initial communication. I found everyone I spoke with, including Tessa and her team, Dave and the pleasant gent who collected my goods, to be polite and professional. The quote for shipping my goods to California were less than I expected, and the time given until arrival was less than I expected too. I packed my goods myself, and I was amazed at how they got all my stuff onto two pallets, thus saving me a lot a of money. My goods arrived a week earlier than quoted, but I was delayed in getting them only due to US Customs wanting to examine the container further. It wasn’t a major issue. I would certainly recommend 1st Move International to anyone wishing to use the services of a professional shipping company. Thank you!
