House move to Vancouver. 1st Move International was very professional and careful with our belongings. The process was smooth enough and helped us feel less stressed about moving abroad. The delivery of the cargo was delayed by a month once it reached Canada, but that was not due to any fault of 1st Move. We were told delays were a possibility and the team was quick to send us contact details of the agent who was supposed to receive the shipment here in Canada. When opened the Shrink-Fast packing everything was intact inside, which was surprising and a great relief for us. We are really grateful for this and would highly recommend!Thank you for all your help!

Brilliant company to work with - really responsive and helpful office-based staff dealing with all the preliminaries for the move from London to Canada followed by amazingly quick and hard-working team of packers and movers who dealt with the 5.5 cubic feet of stuff to be shifted down 8 flights of stairs (!) into the van. Have not yet had reports from the recipient in Canada but I expect that to be wholly positive. I just wish we'd used them when we made our move to and back from New Zealand a few years back.

Thank you so much for all your help and care over the last couple of months shipping my possessions to Vancouver. It's a long way via Shipping Container and Train. All the boxes were delivered safely at 11.45am Vancouver time this morning, a beautiful sunny day. Now I will feel more 'at home' with my familiar things around me. I am so relieved and excited, my new life in Canada has really begun, one of the boxes is full of Lego, so my grandson is looking forward to seeing this after school! He is excited at the prospect of a big box of Lego that once his dad played with! We are in the same building so it is perfect for me. So thank you once again for your professionalism and care.

I had a great experience with 1st Move International moving my belongings from UK/ Reading to Canada/Ontario. Communications were easy and fast. The guys who packed my stuff were quick and efficient. I had many fragile items that needed an extra care. I was kept informed of each step along the way. Also, the initial quote ended up being slightly less once my things were weighed and packed up which was a bonus! On the Canadian side, I had to go to Immigration to get my stuff released due to some paper work needing to be signed but other than that, it was delivered all in a great condition and nothing missing. I would definitely recommend 1st Move International!

The staff were very friendly and helpful. Whenever I had a question the were quick to reply. The process could have been explained a little clearer but all went well. We were very pleased with the packing and management of our personal property and furniture. Everything arrived intact! We also appreciated the sealed pallets as an added Covid measure. I would have appreciated receiving the list of goods prior to our departure as we needed it to clear customs when we declared it at the airport. It required an extra trip back to the airport, with the list, to complete our declaration. The only disappointment was the time it took to get our belongings. We paid a premium using this company to get our stuff quickly but it still took 6 weeks. I can understand some delay due to Covid but it was more than we anticipated. We also had to pay extra at our end to have it delivered to our residence. Be prepared to possibly pay for customs inspection if your shipment is chosen for inspection . Of course ours was! I think under normal circumstances, if you want your belongings quicker, this is the company to use.

The goods arrived at our Toronto house yesterday. I am quite amazed at the idea of these household things going from Gerrards Cross in the UK, onto an ocean vessel and arriving at our house. The packing job was excellent. The cost of shipping was more than the goods would have fetched at auction or elsewhere in the UK, but the cost was worth it to the family. My husband’s parents bought the dining room set forty years ago, and were quite proud of it. It will end up at our cottage in Muskoka, where I am sure it will get another forty years of use, if not more. I don’t mind sharing my comments. I found your service through an on-line search that had users comments posted on it. I finally finished unpacking the glassware and porcelain. The only thing that was broken was a hand from a porcelain figurine that I broke while trying to pack it myself. My attempts to pack were re-done by your packers when they came to pick up the goods. I think they were being kind when they said that they have seen worse.

After reading reviews of many moving companies for my move from the UK to Canada, all of which had horror stories, I selected 1st Move because they palletise the shipment, rather than loose load a container. This felt more secure to me and, having received my shipment, excellently packed and with nothing broken I am glad I went with this option. Whilst I hope not to be moving countries again any time soon, I would use 1st Move International again for sure.

I dealt with 1st Move to transport a Citroen 2CV on RORO from Southampton to Halifax. The first thing to mention about 1st Move is the quality, clarity and accuracy of their communication. From the very first email query, it was clear that this was an organization on top of their business. For the year that it took on my side to get things organized, they never pressured me but they reminded me regularly that they were there to help. The car was located and registered in France and I was initially concerned that driving it to Southampton could pose import/export problems but I was reassured over the phone that this was routinely done. I was also worried about the fact that this car is not easy to start but again, 1st Move confidently answered how this would be dealt with. I had clear instructions of where to drop the car off and it turned out to be a very simple process. 1st Move also referred me to a very competent agent in Canada who professionally guided me through the import process. Overall, this has been an excellent customer service experience and I would certainly recommend 1st Move to anyone interested in shipping a vehicle anywhere in the world.

Thoroughly excellent experience dealing with 1st Move International. Although their quote was a little higher than a few other companies, I cannot argue about the service provided. It has been excellent. The quality of packaging of our belongings makes this entirely worth it. Absolutely everything was extremely well packaged, packed and protected. Nothing was overhanging on the pallets at all and you can tell that every box has been handled with care. Communication has been great throughout the whole process. We even tracked the ship online as it crossed the Atlantic. I paid for kerbside delivery from my apartment in the UK to my apartment in Toronto, Canada. Pick-up was quick and efficient. I was not charged any extra fees on the delivery end and my goods arrived in pristine condition. If I had been slow about declaring my goods with the customs agents, I would have had to pay storage fees. But I was quick about it and didn't have to pay storage fees. I am very happy with the speedy and careful service and I would use this company again.

The collection and packing/wrapping team went beyond my expectations... carefully protecting every item. Expertly putting together a solid and secure pallet which was wrapped and everything arrived safely, no breakages. It was wrapped very well in 5 layers and packed very well....shrink wrapped (black), bubble wrapped, Clingfilm wrapped, corrugated cardboard wrapped, Clingfilm wrapped, Fragile items wrapped in extra clingfilm and bubble wrap, Stacked and arranged very well on the pallet, with odd shaped items protected in the centre of the pallet. Shipping was smooth sailing..... left and arrived on schedule. Customs agents this end had all the paperwork prepared and my shipment was a formality getting through customs. Not one item broken.... great to have all our stuff back. Thanks 1st Move - 100% recommended.

I find it hard to fault First Move International. The only glitch was my fault - I forgot to provide an inventory of boxes I packed myself - but this was brought to my attention quickly and courteously, with the suggestion of a number of costed possible solutions. I was able to put it right so there was no delay in the shipment. Apart from the smoothness of the operation, I found the friendliness and competence of everyone I had contact with a tremendous help. They realised that moving overseas is very stressful for the client, especially when, as in my case, it had to be taken from start to finish in a few days. I can recommend them to anyone moving overseas, and would certainly use them myself if ever I have to move again.
