It takes 42 days for international removals from the UK to El Salvador. This is the time it takes from London Gateway to the port of Acajutla. You’ll need to factor in the time it takes to collect your items in the UK, to pack and for final delivery.

On arrival, all goods will have to undergo customs clearance which will be handled with the help of our agents in El Salvador. Once cleared you can collect directly from our warehouse or we can arrange onward delivery to most destinations, including San Salvador, Soyapango, Santa Ana, San Miguel, Mejicanos, Santa Tecla, Apopa, Delgado and more.

Returning El Salvador citizens can import household goods and personal effects duty-free if they are used and have been owned for at least 6 months before entering. If you are a returning resident who has lived abroad for 3 years, you can also import your personal items and household goods duty-free. Foreign citizens and residents are subject to customs duties of up to 20% depending on the item’s condition and value. A VAT of 13% is also to be paid on top of this.

Yes, you can take your pet to El Salvador with you if you can provide the following requirements:

  • Health Certificate: You’ll need to get a Health Certificate issued by a UK vet that’s endorsed by a government agency within 30 days before you travel.
  • Rabies Vaccination: Your pet must have their rabies vaccination 30 days before travel but no more than 12 months before entry.
  • Parasite Treatment: Your pet must be treated for pests internally and externally and listed on the health certificate.
  • Import Permit: In some situations, you may have to get a pet Import Permit. This can be obtained from the Ministry of Agriculture and Livestock.

Microchips aren’t a requirement, but always recommended for the safety of your pet.
