We ship your items to either Caucedo or Santo Domingo. You can collect your shipment directly from our warehouse or we can arrange onward delivery to most destinations, including Santo Domingo, Santiago de los Caballeros, Santo Domingo Oeste, Santo Domingo Este, San Pedro de Macorís, La Romana, San Cristóbal, Puerto Plata, San Francisco de Macorís, Salvaleón de Higüey and many more.

Returning Dominican citizens who have been out of the country for more than 2 years can import their personal effects and household items duty-free provided they are used and not been bought within the last 6 months. Foreigners moving to the Dominican Republic to work or live long-term also benefit from duty-free customs but have to show evidence of their residency status or employment offer.

Those importing new items are subject to pay a Harmonized Tariff System tax of up to 20% depending on the nature of the item. Value Added Tax, known as Impuesto a la Transferencia de Bienes Industrializados y Servicios, is also charged at 18%.

  • Health Certificate: A licensed vet must declare your pet fit to travel by signing a health certificate within 7 days of travelling.
  • Rabies Vaccination: Your pet must have their rabies vaccination 21 days before travel but no more than 12 months before entry.

Import permits aren’t required to move your pet to the Dominican Republic but it’s worth checking with the consulate. Microchips aren’t necessary, but for your peace of mind and pet’s safety, it’s always recommended to get your pet microchipped.

Living in the Dominican Republic
